David Edward Holt- age 69 of Lake passed away at his home in Lake on October 12, 2016. David was born on December 31, 1946 to parents Othniel and Mary (Long) Holt in Detroit. David graduated from High School at St. Mary’s of Wayne and continued his education at Eastern Michigan, earning his BS Degree in Business Admin. David proudly served our country as a Navy Corpsman with 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines and was highly decorated with two purple hearts. He worked for Ford Motor Co. for 18 years. He married Laura Hansler on November 19, 1988 in Wayne. David and Laura moved to Lake in 2007 after retiring. He was a member of the Lake Rod & Gun Club, was a life member of the VFW, and a member of the American Legion Post. David is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Laura, his children; Scott and Christy, Lynnette Barnes and husband Greg, Michelle Minter and husband Jonathon, step-son Timothy Brown, a brother Robert and wife Patricia, twelve grandchildren, three nieces, one great-nephew, and three great-nieces.
