Elizabeth Anne Johnson Gray- age 92 passed away surrounded by her family at Horizons Senior Living Center on Thursday December 1, 2016. Elizabeth was born to parents Albert and Anne Elizabeth (Hill) Johnson at home in Detroit, on June 15, 1924. She was a graduate of Royal Oak High School in 1943 and Albion College in 1947 with a degree in Home Economics. She was president of her house; Dean Hall. . On August 2, 1947 she was married to Douglas Robert Gray at Royal Oak Methodist Church, and together they raised five children. She was actively involved with the Village United Presbyterian Church in Redford Township, involved with Youth for Understanding, and served with several school parent associations. She and Douglas moved to the Farwell area in 1984 and became an active members of Farwell United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by her children Ann Hunt and husband Phillip of Lake Station, Sarah Gray of Lake Station, Mary Gray of Albuquerque NM, Susan Gray – Waggoner and husband Tom of Redford Township, and Andy Gray and wife Marie of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, four grandchildren; Chance Hunt, Meadow Hunt and husband Rich Meisterheim, Olive Timms and husband Essick, Corey Phelps and husband Eric, six great-grandchildren, and a sister Lois McDonald of Charlottesville VA. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas, parents, brothers, Charles and Albert, Jr., and grandson Stuart Barton. Elizabeth’s family wishes to thank the staff at Horizon Senior Living Center for the loving care they provided Elizabeth during her final years as a resident. Memorial considerations to The Smile Train, Farwell United Methodist Church, and Hospice of Mid-Michigan. Arrangements were entrusted to the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home.
