Obituary for Marion "Duke" John Hayward

Marion John "Duke" Hayward- age 66 of Farwell, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, December 26th, 2016 at Aleda E. Lutz VA Hospital in Saginaw. Duke was born on January 20, 1950 to parents John E. and Lena (Brown) Hayward in Elsie, Michigan. He proudly served with the United States Army and then was employed and retired from General Motors. Duke was a member of UAW, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and American Legion. Hunting and fishing was his life, and he loved his old western movies and watching CNN. Duke is survived by his son Ken and Marilyn Hayward of Beal City, two daughters; Kim Mathis and husband Donald of Mount Pleasant, Keri Schmalbach and husband John of Waterford, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother John Hayward of Alabama, sister Lindy Stadick and husband Al of FL, sister-in-law Linda Hayward of Owosso and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jim, and Viva Susan Krchmar. A funeral service is planned for Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11AM at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Pastor Jim Young will officiate with burial in Gilmore Twp. Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, December 29, from 4 to 8 PM and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service.
