Donna Maxine Carr- age 92 of Lake passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Curry House Assisted Living and Memory Care in Cadillac. Donna was born on October 6, 1924 to parents Roy Lucas and Opal Marie (Sheardy) Neeper in Garfield Twp. On March 22, 1945 she was married to Leslie Ronald Carr at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. She and Ron raised five children and became lifelong residents of the Lake area. Donna served from 1980 and retired as Clare County’s Clerk and Register of Deeds in 1996. She was past president of the Michigan Association of County Clerks and Register of Deeds, and later after retirement as president of the Retirees Associations of the same. Donna and husband Ron were members of the Farwell United Methodist Church and were involved in many activities and committees there. She is survived by three sons; David Alan Carr and wife Lisa of Evart, Danny Ray Carr and wife LeAnn of Fowlerville, Thomas Ronald Carr and wife Lorraine of Farwell, two daughters; Patricia Babcock and husband Barry of Farwell, Venecia George and husband Dean of Cadillac, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Donna was preceded in death by her husband Ron in 2012, a son David James, and brother Clyde Ray Neeper. A funeral service for Donna is planned for Friday, February 3rd, 2017 at 11AM at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Pastor Connie Bongard will officiate. Burial in Garfield Twp. Cemetery.
