Alfred L. DeWitt “Al or Fred”
Age 81 of Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home with loving family on July 14, 2017. Born 8-16-35 to Claude and Barbara DeWitt, in Sault St. Marie. United in marriage to Norma on October 27, 1985. He worked as a carbide tool grinder for over 50 years, and worked as security guard at Alma Products and transporter for Northern Star, for medical appointments. Fred was an Army veteran, 1959-61. He leaves behind his loving, devoted soul mate and friend Norma and his little dog Kimmy. He enjoyed camping, fishing, walking, riding bikes and reading. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jane Shenk, son Fred and his Aunt Dorothy. He leaves behind son, Patrick and wife Jill, and their 3 sons Joshua, Collin and Ryan in Charlotte Michigan; Son Dan DeWitt and his wife Lu Anne of Burton Ohio; 2 step children Karen and Mike Shoap of Lake. He will be sorely missed by family and friends as we loved him dearly. Many heartfelt thanks to Hospice Nurses and staff for they are truly God’s angels. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to family to help with expenses. No memorial service is planned at this time.
