Helen Marie Schmanski- age 82 passed away on May 12, 2018, at North Woods Nursing Center in Farwell from complications of Dementia. Helen was born on February 9, 1936 in Detroit Michigan, the daughter of Samuel and Helen (Posegay) Candea. Helen graduated from Pershing High School in 1952.Helen married Thomas Schmanski of Alpena on December 20th, 1968. Helen and Tom moved to Farwell after Tom’s retirement from carpentry. Helen loved to read and play cards, and wintering in Orange Beach Alabama with Tom. Helen is survived by her loving husband Tom, three children; Glenn and wife Deborah Butkovich of Clinton Twp., Raelene Butkovich of Roseville, and Jennifer Bacci and husband Michael of Roseville, five grandchildren; Jamie (Steven), Sara, Terrance, Jacob, Brooke, and two great-grandchildren Ethan and Cheyenne. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 11AM until 2PM on Tuesday May 15th, 2018 with a service following. She will be laid to rest with a graveside service in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Twp. on Wednesday at 11AM.
