Julia L.Dougherty- Letts - age 80, of Lake passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Julia was born on July 31, 1938, the daughter of Jewell William, and Theada Leone (Lux) Swartz in Reed City, Michigan. Many folks enjoyed being the recipient of one of her quilts, and Julia loved rug hooking. She will be greatly missed by her husband Frank, sons; Jesse Swartz of Lake, Joseph Day of North Star, Jewell Henry Norton of Paw-Paw, Charles Dougherty of Clare, daughters Julia Dougherty of Long Lake, Gale Letts of Filnt, Ben Letts of Farwell, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, sister Janet and husband Max Matthews of Harbor Springs, Margaret Swartz Prenger of Harrison and sister-in-law Janet Day of Traverse City. She was preceded in death by husband Charles Dougherty, son Kenneth Day, daughter Linda Day, two brothers Jewell and Joe Swartz, and three sisters; Betty Bay, Henriette Martin, and Verna Lee Swartz. A funeral service is planned for Tuesday, August 14th at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, Auguast 14th from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. Rev. Lena Carl will officiate with burial in Garfield Township Cemetery.
