Constance Jeannette (Hudson) Smith, age 67 of Lake, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, September 19th, 2018. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence L. Hudson and Vivian I. Hudson (Alward) as well as her husband Leonard B. Smith. Connie worked for Kmart for 20 years. She enjoyed her job in retail and created many lifelong friends. Connie loved to garden. She created and maintained many beautiful flower gardens throughout her life. Connie loved her family. She loved her husband. In their younger years they spent many weekends at the race track, hanging out with friends and raising their daughters. She spent her older years taking care of her husband because of his illness, never complaining and always willing. She loved her children and especially her grand and great grandchildren. She was always there giving love or lending a guiding hand. Connie also enjoyed caring for her fur babies- Bubba,ChiChi and Buster. Connie was baptized in the Lutheran faith and attended a Lutheran school as a child. Connie battled Lupus for 37 years. She was thrown many obstacles with the disease
and fought through them all like a true warrior: always strong and always ready to fight. She rarely complained and fought in silence most times. She is survived by her brother David and daughters Jana (Eric) McCabe and Shawn (Scott) McGowan, her grandchildren Brandyn, Brendyn ( Kyleigh ), Amber and Jason, Step grandchildren Debra, Christopher, John, Karrie and Sahvanna. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren- Jayden, Sophia, Bryson and Carson as well as special friends, Vicki and Gary. She will never forget your love and kindness. There will be no services.
