Obituary for Charles Randolph "Abe" Erin

Charles "Abe" Erin- age 70 slipped away on October 21, 2018 at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Abe was born in Los Angeles CA to parents Royce Charles and Ruth Betty (Bruegger) Erin. He graduated High School from Cango Park and enlisted in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Alameda CA, serving from November 1966 until November 1972. He received a National Defense Service Medal and was formally trained as a metiorologist. Following his Naval discharge he moved to Michigan in search of a simpler life. He discovered his peaceful life on a homestead in Lake, and enjoyed his life there for over 40 years. Abe worked at Jay's Sporting Goods for many years and was employed by Farwell Schools as a bus driver, and worked at Carrow's Supermarket. Abe was an accomplished artist and sculptor. Many folks enjoyed being recipients of his beautifully made walking sticks. Any monies he earned carving walking sticks, he donated directly to the Farwell Soup Kitchen. Abe was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Erin and sister Margaret. Honoring his wishes, a cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his life will take place in the Spring.
