John Walker Alexander- age 83 of Farwell and Lake Isabella, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018. John was born on October 25, 1935 to parents Clark and Gertrude (Carol) Alexander in Evart, Michigan. John served our country with the United States Army and worked as a service welder on heavy construction and road building equipment. He loved antique tractors and listening to Blue Grass music. John is survived by his daughter April Lawens and husband Barney of Lake Isabella, two sons John Robert Alexander and wife Kathi of Decatur, IL, Jerry Alexander and wife Heather of Leota, MI, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a brother Larry Alexander of Farwell, and special friends Shayna Chinabare and Marissa Gassel. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia on March 14, 1989, a daughter Dawn Ferguson and two sisters; Laurabell Bale, and Jeannette Douglas. A funeral service is planned for Monday, December 24, 2018, at 11AM at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Pastor Connie Bongard will officiate with burial to follow at Surrey Township Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 3098.
