John Robert Wysong- age 95 passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Pine River Health Care Center in St. Louis. John was born on November 11, 1919, to parents Henry Lawrence and Zelda Jane (Burkett) Wysong, in Oilton Oklahoma. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1938 and on April 17, 1942 he married Almeda Henry in Flint, Michigan. They raised 3 children. John received his 4 year degree in Aviation from the University of Arkansas and served with the United States Army Aircorp as a 2nd Lt. and pilot. He was a flight instructor, and enjoyed a love of fishing, hunting, golf, calf roping, leather work and silver smithing.. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #244, and Elk Lodge #1400. John will be forever missed by his beloved wife of 73 years, Almeda, two sons; Tim Wysong and wife Colleen of Alma, Marc Wysong and wife Denise of Reno NV, daughter Nancy Gager and husband Russ of Alma, four grandchildren; Jeff Rhodes and wife Donna, Jody Miller and husband David, Derek Gager and wife Becky, Brett Gager, six great-grandchildren ; Erin, Tiffany, Jacob, Samantha, Ellie, Lauren, and brother Dale Wysong and wife Betty of Farwell. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Charles Wysong. Honoring John's wishes, a cremation has taken place. John's family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
