Don Reid Torr- age 75 passed away at Munson Hospitality House in Traverse City on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Don was born on August 17, 1940, in Flint Michigan to parents Frederick and Lura Helen (Person) Torr. Following High School, Don proudly served our country with the United States Navy beginning with a deployment aboard the U.S.S. Everglades. He served as an electrical repairman, from 1958 - 1961. He was married to Josephine Burpee on November 2, 1960 in Flint , MI. Together they raised three children, and Don made his living as an automotive freight truck driver with the Teamsters Union, Local # 710. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed his "trike" motorcycle. He is survived by his children; Ray Torr and wife Lisa of Lake, David Torr and wife Kendra of Harrison, Sherri Strom and husband Richard of Cheboygan, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a brother Billy Joe Torr and wife Nancy of FL.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Josephine in July, 2015.
