Anne M. Hobart- age 87 years of Farwell, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Rosebush Manor, in Rosebush.
Now what about Anne? I'll bet you didn't know, christened Rose Ann from the git-go.
A shy little rosebud when she was small
Only later did she blossom, surprising us all.
He grandpa, called Papa, her man to adore,
Taught her about ice cream, and cookies and more.
Her mom said her skill was in drawing or pots made of clay,
But theater became her love when she got a part in a play.
That was at Alma, a college near here,
But she studied her are, even tried it as a career.
First designing medical exhibits was how she spent her day.
Then she learned photography to add to the display.
First in Buffalo, then in Detroit at a hospital called Ford,
She diligently worked, but ah, she was bored.
For you see she remembered the fun of the stage,
And community theater was then all the rage.
But it didn't suffice to satisfy her itch
To do more and more roles, so she decided to switch. (careers, that is)
So on to New York, she wanted to try
To see if she had the talent to fly.
On off Broadway, a part in "The Corn is Green".
She was green all right, but at least she was seen.
But it wasn't quite like the amateur scene;
So cut-throat, so frantic, even so mean!
So when she was offered a job back in Michigan
To teach high school and direct plays, she gave up her wish.
And of all of the events of her life she did say,
This was the one she regretted to the last day.
And teaching the very things she adored,
Proved rewarding, yet still she was bored.
Then a chance at Politics, Ah, "come give it a try".
A run for office was exciting, a high.
And she discovered she loved it, and I have to say
The "Political Stage" became her forte.
To represent the citizens in her township rightly,
Was a sacred trust she didn't take lightly.
But the job, the meetings, the maneuvering, she was naive.
Some of the stories you wouldn't believe!
The job she did love but she needed some money,
For it was part time and being hungry isn't funny.
S a license in Real Estate worked out so well,
Brought in some income. She thought it was swell.
So for 17 ears this was her style and view,
Commissioner, Realtor, and solid waste guru.
In Oakland she created for herself and her doggies, a home,
Found Unity, found contentment, she cared not to roam.
But life has a way of aging us all.
Before she knew it, Retirement paid a call.
What to do now, she had to find a way,
To prevent that boredom and fill up her day.
How she came to mid-Michigan, found N.I.T.E.. a story so long,
I'll spare you the details, just say the move wasn't wrong.
An N.D. she became and suffice it to say,
Made herself useful to her very last day.
So let's celebrate her transition and the greater to come,
Here's to Anne, God Speed and then some!
Anne leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her beloved brother John Hobart and his wife Delores of Westland, and her niece Rebecca Hampton and husband Lonnie of Livonia, and niece Heather Lempea of Dearborn Hgts She was preceded in death by her parents, A memorial to celebrate her life will held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11 AM at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Friends and family will gather for a visitation time from 10AM until the time of service.
