Charles “Charlie” Carl Palshan- age 81 of Clare, passed away on January 27, 2018 at the Villa at Rose City. Charlie was born on August 4, 1936 in Atlas Twp., Michigan to parents Lee Edmund and Virginia Joanne (Piezuel) Palshan. Charlie graduated from Brandon High School in 1954, after which he married Maxine “Mickey” May Miller on June 1, 1957 in Oxford, MI. Together they raised three daughters. Charlie was involved with numerous organizations which included the Clare Moose Lodge #1038, Clare Athletic Boosters, Masons, Kiwanis Club, Clare Lions Club, and the Deer Track Lodge. He coached Little League in the Clare Area, and was the owner of the Clare City Bakery for nearly 30 years. He was an avid U of M fan. Charlie is survived by his daughters; Tracey Bartell and Dave “Slick” Ley of Farwell, Cindy Palshan of Harrison, Terry Reynolds and husband Denny of Lewiston. One granddaughter, Tiffany Howard and Kregg Cotter of Mt. Pleasant, four great-grandchildren; Alexandria, Hunter Paige, Koden, & Kennedy. Brothers; James Palshan and wife Barb of South Carolina, George Palshan of Vermont, Lee Palshan and wife Dorie of Ortonville. Sisters; Karen Bobay and husband Joe of Traverse City, Dee-Dee Cox and husband Bill of OH, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mickey in 2011, his parents, his brother Lou Palshan, sister-in-laws Joanne Palshan and Duane See, and his son-in-law Mark Wilson. A funeral service is planned for Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Noon, at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Pastor Gordon Long will officiate. Family and friends may visit from 10AM until the time of service at noon. Memorial considerations can be made to the family for their wishes.
